About this role
Role Overview
Digital Engineering & Simulation Design and execute digital simulations and statistical analyses to validate value streams, layouts, and processes before physical implementation
Develop and apply digital engineering methodologies — integrating products, processes, and resources — throughout the entire production lifecycle
Perform digital verification of feasibility for manufacturing concepts, using data-driven approaches to reduce risk and accelerate decision-making
Plan, simulate, and implement machine interlinking concepts using Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs), from initial concept through to full-scale deployment
Evaluate and integrate new automation technologies, assessing their impact on cycle time, tooling, quality, and material flow
Partner with production teams to identify, analyze, and resolve manufacturing issues using statistical and digital tools, ensuring root causes are addressed sustainably
Initiate and lead structured troubleshooting processes based on live production data, driving corrective actions through to completion
Work closely with Schaeffler's global manufacturing technology networks — including division, business division, and business unit groups — while maintaining strong alignment with regional stakeholders.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in an engineering related field and 1 year of experience
Relevant professional experience in production and digitalization with focus on disruptive concepts and technologies
Knowledge of end-to-end digital engineering in linking product, process, and resource contexts, integration of design, simulation, and production
Demonstrated competency in programming languages (e.g., Python, C#, C++, Java, JavaScript, RoS), databases, and business/manufacturing software, and software development
Experience in applying and customizing digital engineering and simulation tools (e.g., Plant Simulation, Visual Components, 3D experience, FlexSim, Omniverse etc) and developing and implementing proprietary software tools
Experience in the field of Industrial Metaverse and in development and implementation of digital production twins
Demonstrated competency in analyzing and evaluating production and logistics frameworks from technical and economic standpoints, including methodologies associated with Lean Production
