Role Overview
- Support the modification, expansion, or development of electric substations
- Perform complex substation civil designs
- Mentor junior engineers
- Review consultant engineering firm designs
- Improve internal Civil Engineering procedures and job aids
- Prepare thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations, and sketches
- Conduct engineering and related studies with full technical responsibility for planning and coordinating complex projects
- Analyze and recommend enhancements to business processes and develop standards relevant to the area of assignment
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program
- Minimum of 6 years of engineering experience or 5 years of engineering experience with state registration as a Professional Engineer
- A Master's degree in Engineering will be considered in lieu of the B.S. Engineering degree
- Licensure as a Professional Engineer (Preferred for Senior Engineer level)
- Skilled in Civil Engineering theories and principles.
- Progressive Civil Engineering experience with emphasis on high‑voltage substations and utility infrastructure.
- Proficient in researching engineering designs, evaluating alternatives, making sound decisions, and presenting recommendations.
- Strong understanding of geotechnical principles, soil reports, and foundation selection for substation applications.
