Identify whether a fund has a filing requirement and support the preparation and filing of U.S. federal and state tax returns, including extensions
Perform taxable income analyses and support annual partnership and corporate tax compliance
Prepare amended returns (AARs) and support reissuance processes
Analyze transactions with tax reporting implications, including installment sales, QSBS, tax-free exchanges, SAFEs, and convertible notes
Perform tax-related operational work tied to fund accounting, including recording and reconciling transactions from a tax perspective
Take ownership of assigned workflows, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and clear communication of status and risks
Work cross-functionally with fund accounting, finance, legal, engineering, and operations teams to gather information and resolve issues needed for tax compliance and reporting
Conduct evaluation and testing of proprietary systems to support accuracy and scalability
Identify and implement process improvements to optimize workflows
Contribute to documentation as the tax function scales
Requirements
2–4 years of experience in accounting, tax, fund administration, or a related role
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Working knowledge of federal and state tax concepts
Interest in partnership taxation and investment fund structures
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines with guidance and support
Ability to identify issues and escalate appropriately, with proposed solutions
Clear written and verbal communication skills
Comfortable learning and working within new systems and tools
CPA eligibility or progress toward certification (a plus, not required)
