Works with key stakeholders within the organization to define and document current business processes, intended business outcomes, and operational challenges related to various operational activities using standard modeling frameworks.
Collects, aggregates or disaggregates complex and conflicting information about the business to develop succinct and actionable insights.
Recognizes and articulates the implications and interdependencies of new organizational processes, and key IT and business initiatives.
Communicates the business process implications of technology implementations to stakeholders.
Leads development of a central repository of Business Architecture artifacts, including but not limited to Business Capability Maps and Process Diagrams, to provide traceability through the organization and aid in ongoing governance.
Develops and maintains a business capability execution roadmap.
Performs impact and risk analysis and identifies when initiatives need to be scaled up and adopted more widely.
Understands and translates business needs into functional requirements.
Defines the external entities (e.g.; customers, suppliers, and external systems) that interact with the business; and the people, resources and controls involved in the processes.
Defines the data shared across the enterprise and the relationships between those data.
Captures the relationships among roles, capabilities and business units, the decomposition of those business units into subunits, and the internal or external management of those units.
Requirements
Minimum of 12 years of direct work experience in a business analyst / architect capacity working with business systems related to systems support, analysis, or development.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a lead position providing leadership and mentoring to other Business Analysts.
The ability to visualize and create high-level models that can be used in future analysis to extend and mature the business architecture practice.
The ability to apply architectural principles to business solutions.
The ability to assimilate and correlate disconnected documentation and drawings, and articulate their collective relevance to the organization and to high-priority business issues.
The ability to recognize structural issues within the organization, functional interdependencies and cross-silo redundancies.
Experience modeling business processes using a variety of tools and techniques.
Team player with strong collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively at all levels of an organization.
The ability to identify opportunities for process improvement throughout the organization and be able to showcase ideas and get consensus on solutions.
