Coordinate care for the surgical case, the surgeon, nurses, and other team members
Ensure availability of appropriate instrumentation, supplies, and equipment for assigned cases
Ensure that the instruments are cleaned, arranged, and transported to the soiled workroom according to department policy
Independently assist with instrument reprocessing tasks when assigned cases are completed and time permits
Ensure that the operating rooms are case-ready for the following day's cases
Exhibit practical knowledge of OR equipment, including maintenance and safety aspects
May perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
High School GED
Graduate of a NBSTSA-accredited or a NCCT-approved Surgical Technology school/program, surgical/scrub tech training through the military, or a minimum of two years on-the-job training (OJT) surgical/scrub experience at an acute care facility or ambulatory surgery center.
Ability to follow oral instruction, read, and write
