Role Overview
- Draft and respond to motions, including demurrers, motions to strike, discovery motions, and motions for summary judgment/adjudication
- Prepare oppositions and reply briefs
- Draft complaints and amended pleadings in labor and employment matters
- Conduct thorough legal research and analysis on California employment law issues
- Prepare internal memoranda related to litigation strategy and legal issues
- Ensure all filings comply with California procedural rules and court requirements
- Collaborate with litigation attorneys to strengthen case strategy through written advocacy
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
- An active member of the California State Bar in good standing
- 1
- 4 years of experience practicing employment law
- Substantial experience handling law and motion practice in California employment matters
- Exceptional legal writing, research, and analytical skills
- Ability to manage assignments independently and meet deadlines in a remote environment
- Demonstrated ability to handle a caseload independently and meet deadlines
- Strong negotiation and advocacy skills
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
