Equipment Operator, Offshore Ships/Cable Laying Vessel

Role Overview

• Operate cable engines
• linear cable machines
• turntables
• tensioners
• winches
• associated deck equipment
• Monitor cable tension
• speed
• alignment during laying
• burial
• recovery operations
• Assist with loading
• splicing
• testing
• maintenance of subsea cables
• Perform routine inspections
• basic troubleshooting
• preventive maintenance of equipment
• Ensure cable operations are carried out accurately and safely

Requirements

• Minimum experience requirements of 3 years on Cable Layers / Pipe / MPSV/ DSV vessels
• at least 1
• 1.5 years’ experience in Carousal operating
• Requires technical skill
• strong safety awareness
• good communication and skills of English language
• Holder of valid STCW certifications required for the position
• Experience with multicultural working environment.
