Observing and recording patient information pertinent to the treatment plan
Welcoming new patients through specific admission protocols
Assisting with the patient discharge process
Maintaining direct patient observation
Leading patient education, community, goal, and activity groups
Assisting nursing staff by taking vital signs
Helping patients perform ADL's
Adjusting therapeutic approach to acuity, age, gender and cultural considerations
Does not assume independent responsibility for patient care

High school graduate or equivalent preferred
Certification as a nursing assistant (CNA) where required by state preferred
Current BLS certification is required
Crisis management certification per hospital policy and standards required
A minimum of two (2) to three (3) years of experience in an acute hospital, rehabilitation hospital, or skilled nursing unit is preferred
