Psychology Intern, Student Counseling Services

Role Overview

• Interns perform the typical duties of a Counseling Center Psychologist in training with supervision
• Engage in a variety of service experiences including but not limited to: Therapy including individual, couples, and group
• Initial evaluations including consultation, diagnosis, triage, and referral
• Assessment including testing and specialized substance use and attention screenings
• Programming and outreach, supervision of trainees, and possibly teaching

Requirements

• Must have advanced to doctoral candidacy
• Passed any required qualifying exams/comprehensive exams
• Successfully proposed your dissertation prior to the submission of the ranking list (February 1)
• Interns come from an American Psychological Association (or Canadian Psychological Association) accredited psychology graduate program
• Must participate in the National Match Process through APPIC
• Must have been determined "Ready for Internship" by their University or College Director of Training
