Lead onboarding and ongoing professional development for nursing staff in the Operating Room at East Madison Hospital, supporting a high-volume, multi-specialty surgical environment
Assess, plan, develop, implement, and evaluate comprehensive educational programs for intraoperative nursing practice across orthopedic, general, bariatric, minimally invasive, and emerging surgical service lines
Support a dynamic OR setting performing 40–50 cases daily across 14 operating rooms, with upcoming expansion including additional OR suites, procedural space, and new specialties such as ENT, ophthalmology, plastics, urology, and gynecology
Collaborate across surgical services, anesthesia, and interdisciplinary teams to develop curriculum and education that supports safe, efficient, and high-quality perioperative care
Facilitate onboarding for experienced nurses transitioning into the OR and support competency development in a technology-driven environment, including robotics and evolving surgical innovations
Serve as a clinical education resource and participate in system-wide initiatives; three (3) years of surgical services nursing experience including intraoperative/circulator nursing experience strongly preferred.
Requirements
Master's Degree in Nursing Required
Master's Degree in Nursing Education Preferred
3 years of relevant clinical nursing experience Required
3 years of relevant clinical nursing experience with position specific patient population Preferred
3 years of experience providing orientation and education for nursing staff in clinical setting Preferred
Relevant experience in primary and specialty clinic settings for NES candidates working in ambulatory areas Preferred
Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of WI or holds a license issued by a jurisdiction that has adopted the nurse licensure compact Upon Hire Required
Basic Life Support BLS/CPR certification Required
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within 6 months Required
National certification in relevant specialty Preferred
