Role Overview
- Lead the delivery and continuous improvement of the regional data protection and privacy programme
- Provide expert advice and guidance on data protection regulations, including GDPR, POPIA, PDPL and related privacy requirements
- Conduct and oversee privacy impact assessments, risk assessments, and compliance reviews
- Develop, implement, and maintain privacy policies, guidance, processes, controls, and governance frameworks
- Partner with business leaders and functional teams to embed privacy-by-design principles across projects and operations
- Monitor privacy risks, compliance activities, and regulatory developments
- Drive remediation activities and support the resolution of compliance gaps, risks, and audit findings
- Design and deliver privacy awareness, training, and communications programmes
- Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders across all levels of the organisation
Requirements
- 3+ years’ experience in data protection and privacy compliance
- Fluency in both English and German (Arabic skills advantageous)
- Experience leading complex compliance programmes, initiatives, or transformation activities across multiple stakeholders
- Skilled in using OneTrust (DSAR, Inventory, Assessment, Cookie modules)
- Recognised privacy certification (e.g. ISEB, CIPP/E, CIPM); legal or data governance degree preferred
- Experience working in international or matrix organisations and collaborating with global teams
