The MV/HV Safety Manager will coordinate, implement, and monitor the Corporate Safety Programs at various project locations.
Able to perform all duties of a safety representative
Thorough understanding of basic electrical concepts
Knowledge of utility scale solar facilities and field circuitry
Electrical substation knowledge and function
Provide electrical safety training and education
Knowledge of and comfortable in medium and high voltage environments as well as able to train safe work practices, learn and teach company clearance and operational procedures
Ability to identify and train isolating procedures and grounding concepts
Identify leading and lagging indicators
Develop job specific safety plans and procedures, and see to implementation
Inspect job sites to ensure Company Safety Program and OSHA compliance
Provide emergency response plans for projects
Arrange for basic first aid training for job site personnel
Investigate and analyze bodily injury and property damage accidents
Lead investigation of near miss and reportable offenses
Ability to determine near miss/good catch
Coordinate project safety programs with subcontractors
Compile and issue regular accident report summaries
Provide updated information to employees regarding safety requirement updates or changes
Identify and handle project management personnel needing assistance, training, or discipline in meeting corporate safety guidelines and goals
Work with third party safety verification platforms for validation of company’s safety procedures
Develop regional safety training’s, through onsite, local, and LMS based training
Create training and assist with trainers for various safety programs
Observe and flag personnel for additional or follow up training’s
Participate in Corrective Action Plan development
Regularly review and revise Electrical Safety Program documents, keeping current with industry code and best practices
Ability to Inspect and recertify regional live line tools.
Requirements
Have or work to obtain safety certification such as CSP, ASP, CHST, OHST, or CUSP
BS in Occupational safety and health or 7 years in safety solar safety experience
5 years’ experience in safety or safety related field
Willing to travel 75%
Thorough knowledge of OSHA regulations
Through knowledge of NFPA 70e
Ability to evaluate operations and maintenance work activities with respect to safety and loss control
Ability to recognize and analyze company trends with respect to company accidents.
