Pharmacy Technician – Medication Reconciliation

Role Overview

• Assist the pharmacist in the provision of pharmaceutical care to all patients of Carle Foundation Hospital, Kirby and Hoopeston Hospitals, and all Carle Enterprise locations that might use medications
• Accurately and safely prepare and label chemotherapy drugs for administration
• Fill medication orders in an accurate and timely manner, including new or lost doses, floor stock replacement items, unit dose cart, outpatient and take-home prescriptions
• Perform miscellaneous billing functions, including patient charging and crediting, nursing unit charges, and controlled substance charging
• Prepare IV products using aseptic technique and applying proper labeling

Requirements

• Certified Pharmacy Technician within 2 years of license issue date (IL)
• Licensed Pharmacy Technician within 60 days of license application
• Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
• Certified Pharmacy Technician Not Required
• Student Pharmacist or Licensed before 1/1/2008
• Exempt/Not Required
