Tax Accountant – Principal Tax Accountant

Role Overview

• Maintain comprehensive compliance calendars for all property taxes, business licenses, and payment schedules
• Collaborate with property management to ensure asset reports accurately reflect proper locations and the timely removal of disposed assets
• Prepare, review, and file timely annual real estate and business personal property tax returns
• Lead personal property tax audits
• Manage property tax appeals and coordinate related third-party consulting agreements
• Research property tax issues, including industry and legislative research
• Oversee the research, preparation, and timely filing of municipal and state business licenses and renewals

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or similar field
• 2 years property tax experience for Level 2 or 6 years property tax experience for Level 3
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Experience with property tax reporting software systems such as PTMS
