About this role
Role Overview
Drive culturally safe legal services while mentoring the next generation of lawyers
Provide effective and timely support to disadvantaged Aboriginal clients
Supervise, mentor and support others within the team
Ensure all work meets relevant policies and requirements while managing caseload and related administrative tasks efficiently
Requirements
Hold Australian or NZ citizenship, Australian Permanent Residency or a valid visa to work in Australia
Undertake relevant pre-employment checks such as Working with Children Check, Criminal Record Check, and Conduct Service Check
Have Legal Qualification/s
Be admitted or eligible for admission as a legal practitioner in NSW
Provide a current unrestricted NSW Practising Certificate before you start work with us
Be willing and have capacity to travel regularly to regional and remote areas or have a valid driver licence
Be a Registered practitioner of the High Court of Australia as per provisions of section 55B of the Judiciary Act 1903 (Cth)
Have experience in, and understanding and knowledge of, working in Aboriginal communities
