Role Overview
Researching, analyzing and synthesizing information on current developments in politics, civil society and search and rescue (SAR)
Supporting advocacy work and political communication
Assisting with the creation of website content and internal information documents
Weekly press/media monitoring
Translating articles and informational materials from other country organizations into German
Conceptualizing and creating social media content
Providing administrative support
General support for special occasions such as events, campaigns or periods of increased workload
Requirements
Currently enrolled in a degree program in Political Science, Social Sciences, International Relations, Migration Studies, Communications and Media Studies, or a related field with a compulsory internship requirement
Interest in humanitarian issues and migration policy
Very good research and analytical skills; experience producing written content
Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team
Experience working with social media
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in German and English
Commitment to the mission and values of SOS MEDITERRANEE in its European dimension
Advantageous: knowledge of search and rescue (SAR), maritime and international law, migration issues, the Mediterranean context, and graphic design
