Assistant Attorney General – Health Care Division

Role Overview

• Lead and assist with complex consumer protection investigations and litigations involving health care sector entities.
• Conduct interviews, obtain documents, and take testimony through civil investigative demands.
• Handle settlement negotiations and prepare for litigation.
• Manage pleadings, discovery, dispositive motions, trial, and settlement tasks.
• Join AGO civil litigation teams challenging federal actions affecting the Commonwealth.
• Work on health policy including monitoring trends related to health care costs and drafting/reviewing proposed legislation.

Requirements

• Must be a member of the Massachusetts Bar or eligible for admission by motion.
• At least three (3) years of post-JD litigation, health law, consumer law, or equivalent experience preferred.
• Previous experience in health law is desired but not required.
• Excellent writing, legal analysis, negotiation, and oral advocacy skills.
• Ability to quickly grasp complex legal, business, and financial concepts.
• Ability to collaborate and represent the Office with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Demonstrated commitment to practicing law in the public interest.
