Ensure high availability, performance tuning, data integrity, backup and recovery, and supporting development and operational teams with database solutions
Administer and support IBM Informix databases across development, testing, and production environments
Install, configure, and upgrade Informix database server software
Monitor database performance, perform tuning, and ensure optimal efficiency and uptime
Manage database backup and recovery strategies, including DR planning and testing
Troubleshoot, debug, and modify existing Informix 4GL application code, forms, and reports to meet evolving business needs
Write, optimize, and tune complex SQL statements, stored procedures, and triggers for the IBM Informix Dynamic Server (IDS) database
Troubleshoot and resolve database issues, working with application developers and system administrators

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
8+ years of hands-on experience with IBM Informix database administration
Strong proficiency with SQL and Informix tools (dbaccess, onstat, oncheck, etc.)
Solid understanding of database architecture, replication, and disaster recovery
Proficiency in the Informix 4GL programming language
Excellent skills in writing, optimizing, and debugging complex SQL and PL/SQL (or similar procedural SQL) within the Informix environment.
