Assist with designing reporting packages and analyses to assess and understand practice group performance
Identify and investigate trends, anomalies, and opportunities.
Design and maintain reporting processes, and regularly assess delivery methods and identify improvement opportunities.
Work with the Financial Systems and IT teams on the development and enhancement of reporting tools, including dashboards and other dynamic reporting tools.
Generate ad hoc financial models and data analysis
Prepare, or assist in the preparation, of recurring and special management reports.
Prepare queries across multiple sources to generate data.
Manipulate data in Excel spreadsheets or other tools in order to summarize financial reports requested.
Work closely with other Finance functions, including Pricing, Billing, and Rate Management, on reporting needs and ad hoc requests for financial information and analysis.
Provide support to other Business Operations teams, including Business Development, Lawyer Talent, and Recruiting, as requested.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required, with a concentration in Finance or Accounting preferred.
A minimum of 2 years of job-related experience, preferably in a law firm or professional services firm.
Proven ability to synthesize metrics into practical insights and communicate those insights confidently.
High level of proficiency with Excel and consideration will be given to experience with SQL, PowerBI, and legal financial systems (Aderant or Elite).
