Solution Architect

Role Overview

• Solution design & architecture
• Conduct comprehensive technical discovery workshops to understand clients' business models, requirements, constraints, and success criteria.
• Design holistic e-commerce architectures, including core platform configuration, integrations, custom extensions, and third-party technologies.
• Define architecture patterns, data flows, and integration strategies taking into account best practices for scalability, performance, and security.
• Evaluate trade-offs between custom development and the platform's standard features.
• Implementation support
• Serve as the primary technical point of contact during the implementation process and support partners during development, integrations, and go-lives.
• Work closely with Sales on go-to-market strategies, project scoping, effort estimation, and risk assessments.
• Communicate technical concepts, assumptions, and constraints clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders at the management level.
• Support proofs of concept (PoCs) and technical validations as needed.
• Collaboration with partners & delivery teams
• Work closely with agencies and system integration partners (SI partners) to validate delivery approaches and ensure architectural alignment.
• Review partners' solution designs and implementation plans for compliance with platform standards and best practices.
• Provide support during onboarding and in early project phases to ensure smooth customer launches.
• Identify and mitigate technical risks early in the project lifecycle.
• Platform & ecosystem expertise
• Build and maintain a deep understanding of the e-commerce platform, its product roadmap, and relevant ecosystem technologies.
• Continuously monitor market trends, new technologies, and evolving architecture patterns.
• Relay customer and partner feedback to product and engineering teams to drive continuous platform improvement.

Requirements

• Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in e-commerce architecture, solution consulting, or a comparable technical role.
• Fluent German and English language skills.
• Deep understanding of modern e-commerce architectures and common integration patterns.
• Experience designing solutions integrating payment, ERP, PIM, CMS, search, and marketing technologies.
• Ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong collaboration skills with sales, delivery, and partner-management teams.
• Particularly advantageous: experience with leading e-commerce platforms.
• Experience in a partner-driven or agency-based delivery environment.
• Experience supporting enterprise customers or clients in the upper mid-market segment.
