Role Overview
- Researches, develops, designs, and tests electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks
- Designs electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes
- Provides technical support for NNS low voltage electrical and controls systems
- Responsible for maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of control systems, software for complex equipment and machinery
- Directs work assignments of engineering service providers and contractors to design and construct shipyard facilities and equipment
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program
- 2 years of relevant exempt experience
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or Mechatronics is preferred
- Knowledge and experience with PLC programming and logic development (various programming languages)
- Robotics/machine automation
- Human Machine Interfaces (HMI)
- Network Communication Protocols
- Technical aptitude and understanding of both electrical and mechanical components and how they work together as a system
- Development and/or interpretation of electrical, mechanical and controls schematics
