Director, Supplier Quality & Development

Role Overview

• As Director, Supplier Quality & Development (SQ&D), you will lead and transform a best-in-class supplier quality function for Carrier Climate Solutions Europe (CSE)
• You will be responsible for end-to-end supplier performance and will drive measurable improvements in quality, delivery and cost across the supply chain
• A primary focus will be reducing Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ), ensuring reliable supplier deliveries, and implementing transparent, data-driven performance management
• In this role you will have direct impact on EBIT, customer satisfaction and operational stability
• You will lead supplier development programs, manage critical escalations, and establish strong governance and standardized processes across all regions
• You will act as a key partner to Procurement, R&D and Operations, ensuring supplier performance is embedded in sourcing, industrialization and production
• You will drive digitalization, strengthen organizational capabilities and build a culture of continuous improvement within SQ&D
• The scope covers the entire supplier base of Carrier Climate Solutions Europe (CSE), with primary responsibility for Residential and the Commercial expansion segment.

Requirements

• Degree in Engineering, Quality Management or a related field
• 12+ years of experience in supplier or manufacturing quality
• 7+ years of leadership experience in global organizations
• Strong expertise in supplier audits and supplier qualification
• Quality management systems (ISO 9001; IATF preferred)
• APQP, PPAP and industrialization/production ramp-up processes
• Structured problem-solving skills (8D, Six Sigma)
• Global supply chain quality management experience
• Proven leadership and team development capabilities
• Excellent communication and stakeholder influencing skills (including at executive level)
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to link quality to financial performance
• Data-driven, structured and analytical mindset
• Fluent in English; additional European languages (e.g., French, German, Polish) are a plus
• High results orientation with strong sense of accountability
• Ability to work effectively in complex, global matrix organizations
• Resilient and confident when managing escalations and high-pressure situations
• Collaborative yet decisive leadership style
• Strong focus on governance and execution discipline
