Serve as the drainage and stormwater technical lead on major transportation and infrastructure projects, overseeing all aspects of design and coordination.
Provide technical guidance and oversight for drainage and stormwater design, including preparation and review of calculations, models, plans, specifications, and details.
Prepare engineering plans and specifications for drainage / stormwater management systems, including detention facilities, culverts, and other related infrastructure.
Utilize hydraulics and hydrology modeling software to analyze and evaluate the impacts of various proposed improvements.
Design, analyze, and review grading plans, flow calculations, detention pond sizing, storm sewer capacities, and other civil site design elements.
Prepares permit application packages.
Prepares transportation related hydrology and hydraulics studies, including Master Drainage Plan, Drainage Reports.
Participate in project scoping, fee estimating, proposal preparation, interviews, and negotiations.
Adhere to company standards for quality assurance and quality control as defined in the quality manual.
Train and/or mentor junior staff.
Represent the company at public meetings, conferences, interviews, and industry events.
Requirements
Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university.
Florida Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within 6 months.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in roadway stormwater drainage design.
Experience with Florida Department of Transportation drainage design requirements, policies, and procedures.
Demonstrated knowledge of Roadway Design Process and ability to collaborate with Roadway tasks.
Experience with South Florida Water Management District and/or St. Johns River Water Management District permit requirements, policies, and procedures.
Demonstrated ability to produce comprehensive roadway drainage design, including plans, profiles, detailed drawings, calculations, estimates, and all necessary documentation.
Proven experience using drainage design and hydraulics/hydrology modeling software, such as Open Roads Designer, StormCAD, HEC-RAS and/or other industry-standard tools.
Working knowledge of roadway design practices and software including Open Roads Designer and/or Civil 3D.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and lead teams to successfully complete tasks and projects.
