About this role
Role Overview
- data entry
- filling prescriptions
- working the register
- inventory
- performs care delivery and dispensing of medication under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist or licensed independent practitioner
- participates in the training of new employees
- ensures adequate supplies are available for continuous patient care
- triages and escalates any questions or issues outside the pharmacy technician's scope of practice as needed
- uses appropriate systems for processing patient information
- assumes local and/or system responsibility for assigned tasks related to pharmacy operations
- ensures quality assurance is maintained according to departmental and legal requirements
- operates pharmacy equipment appropriately
- other duties may be assigned
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Virginia Pharmacy Tech License (Required)
- CPhT License (Received through the NHA or PTCB) (Required)
- 2 Years Pharmacy Experience (Required)
- Retail, outpatient pharmacy, insurance prior authorization experience (Preferred)
