About this role
Role Overview
Lead and oversee delivery across multiple concurrent software projects, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned to business objectives.
Remain hands-on as needed, providing technical guidance, architecture input, and problem-solving support to the team.
Define and enforce engineering best practices including coding standards, design patterns, documentation, and testing strategies.
Establish and lead code review practices that promote quality, consistency, and knowledge sharing.
Manage, mentor, and develop a team of software engineers spanning a range of experience levels.
Foster a strong engineering culture focused on ownership, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Support hiring, onboarding, and performance management as the team grows.
Coach team members on technical excellence, career development, and delivery effectiveness.
Establish and continuously improve development operations including CI/CD pipelines, release practices, and production support workflows.
Partner with Product, Data, Consulting, and Advisory stakeholders to translate business needs into well-defined technical solutions.
Balance speed of delivery with long-term maintainability, reliability, and technical debt management.
Help define and evolve the team’s agile or hybrid delivery approach to best fit project and client needs.
Contribute to the evolution of STV’s Digital Advisory Products, providing input on technical roadmap, tooling, and platform direction.
Identify opportunities to improve engineering efficiency, product quality, and cross-team collaboration.
Support client-facing engagements as needed by representing engineering perspectives with confidence and clarity.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
8+ years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 2–3 years in a technical lead or engineering management role.
Strong experience delivering production software using modern architectures, frameworks, and development practices.
Demonstrated ability to lead teams while staying technically credible and hands-on.
Experience overseeing delivery across multiple projects or products simultaneously.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
