Be responsible for the operation of various surveying equipment for topographic and construction surveys.
Serve as DU’s representative on construction projects, while performing a variety of inspections to verify contractor’s compliance with plans, specifications and standards.
Prepare inspection reports and maintain project records.
Assist Regional Engineer(s) and other Technician(s) with a variety of administrative duties.
Requirements
Experience with topographic and construction surveying techniques is preferred.
Knowledge of heavy construction work methods, practices, materials and equipment in coastal environments is preferred.
Knowledge of methods and techniques of project administration, construction inspection and materials testing is preferred.
A two-year technical degree in a related field and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the engineering/construction industry is desirable.
Must be able to operate ATV and outboard boats in coastal marsh environments.
Experience with surveying equipment (Trimble) is preferred.
Experience with AutoCAD Civil3D is desirable.
Good oral and written communication skills are essential.
Must be able to work with and solve problems in close team-based relationships with peers, staff, supervisors, and public and private conservation partners.
