About this role
Role Overview
Serve as sustainability lead for priority banking, merchant, and technology customers and prospects, partnering with account teams, Product, and Business Development to bring partnerships and programs into customer conversations and support sustainability use cases aligned with Mastercard offerings.
Support early-stage sustainability conversations with customers by clarifying priorities, shaping use cases, identifying budgets, and connecting account teams with Product and Business Development partners before handoff.
Leverage Mastercard’s participation in priority sustainability ecosystems and flagship convenings to deepen relationships, surface joint use cases, advance collaboration, and create commercial opportunities and thought leadership around Mastercard sustainability solutions.
Maintain the tracking of customer sustainability engagements to support measurement and alignment with the Impact Dashboard for CIFG&S and MSG QDDs and other reporting.
Manage strategic NGO relationships, including Conservation International (CI) and WRI, and partner with Product to advance the impact and long-term success of the Priceless Planet Coalition (PPC).
Manage relationships with CI, WRI, and other implementation partners to advance restoration of 100 million trees globally.
Collaborate with Product on partner engagement by cultivating funding opportunities toward annual fundraising targets and driving or supporting initiatives such as the NAT Gala and other sponsorship events.
Support Product in developing a PPC-linked carbon credit offering to diversify long-term funding. Partner with CI to assess project suitability and integrity, support the offering’s design, value proposition and positioning, and enable customer conversations that test demand and inform funding and portfolio decisions. Ensure carbon credit projects support PPC’s 100M tree goal.
Work across Mastercard teams (e.g., Public Sector, Growth Segments, CFIG, Services, Core Product, CNPF, and regional teams) to identify, shape, and advance commercialization and market development pathways for climate adaptation and resilience solutions aligned with customer priorities and regional needs.
Partner with Strategic Growth teams to build pipelines of climate adaptation and resilience opportunities in priority markets and sectors, translating ecosystem engagement and external partnerships into qualified leads, trusted relationships, and scalable commercial pathways. Serve as an SME to integrate climate adaptation and resilience into Mastercard solutions and inclusive growth initiatives.
Drive pilots and early commercial and market development engagements that test climate resilience use cases, demonstrate demand, clarify revenue potential, and drive impact. Partner with Product, Business Development, and Strategic Growth teams to move opportunities from concept to early execution and handoff.
