Perform detailed quantity takeoffs from civil and power utility drawings using Bluebeam and PlanSwift, with expertise in reading and interpreting utility-specific plan sets.
Conduct thorough plan reviews and specification analysis to identify missing information, clarifications, and scope questions before bid submission.
Manage the complete bid solicitation and submission process — from plan receipt through final bid delivery, including supplier and subcontractor pricing coordination.
Serve as the primary estimator contact for clients, engaging directly with home builders and general contractors to clarify scope, answer technical questions, and support the sales process.
Track active bid invitations, manage the estimating pipeline, and coordinate with internal teams on project requirements and timelines.
Support post-award workflows including subcontractor buyouts, RFIs, submittals packages, and ongoing coordination with subcontractors and suppliers on scope and scheduling.
Requirements
3+ years of estimating experience in underground utilities, civil construction, or closely related trades, with demonstrated experience on large-scale projects ($500K+) for U.S.-based clients.
Proficiency with Bluebeam and PlanSwift software; experience with civil and utility drawing interpretation is essential.
Strong ability to read and interpret civil drawings, power utility drawings, specifications, and plan schedules with a high degree of accuracy.
End-to-end bid process experience — from takeoff and pricing coordination through formal submission, plus familiarity with post-award workflows (buyouts, RFIs, submittals, scope coordination).
Proven experience engaging directly with clients during the estimating and bidding process; comfort with frontline customer contact and sales-oriented interactions.
Fluent English communication skills (written and verbal); prior experience working remotely for U.S.-based contractors is strongly preferred.
Familiarity with underground utilities, power, and communications infrastructure is highly valued.
