Lead mechanical design of enclosures, mounts, and ruggedized assemblies for electronic and RF hardware.
Create 3D CAD models, detailed drawings, and tolerance analyses for prototyping and production.
Drive rapid prototyping (3D printing, machining) and design-for-manufacturability efforts.
Perform thermal, structural, and environmental analysis to meet ruggedization and operational requirements.
Collaborate with electrical, RF, and embedded engineers on mechanical integration and packaging.
Select materials and components; manage BOMs and engineering documentation.
Support field testing, hardening, and design iteration based on operational feedback.
Coordinate with technicians and vendors on builds, fabrication, and assembly.
Requirements
Eligible to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance – U.S. Citizenship required.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
8+ years of mechanical design experience for electronic or ruggedized hardware products.
Expert proficiency with 3D CAD (e.g., SolidWorks) and GD&T.
Experience with rapid prototyping, machining, and design for manufacturability.
Working knowledge of thermal management and environmental/ruggedization standards (e.g., MIL-STD-810).
Hands-on prototyping and lab validation experience.
Strong cross-disciplinary collaboration skills.
