Evaluate financial coverage for patients being considered for medication services
Verify insurance benefits, including pharmacy
Obtain pre-authorization for services from third party payers
Educate patients/family members on financial requirements of transplant
Process prior authorization and insurance verification for outpatient medications for high dollar procedural areas
Initiate prior authorization at least 15 days ahead of the appointment date
Screen patients to determine potential for program assistance and eligibility for treatment
Research, verify benefits, and document patient insurance coverage and financial information
Insurance nurse case managers communication
Keeping financial profiles updated on all active patients
Communicate any denied services with clinic providers
Requirements
High School diploma, GED or equivalent education level
Bachelor’s degree and 3 years health care/office related experience, or a high school diploma and 7 years’ experience, or a high school diploma and combination of college and experience years to equal 7
Excellent computer, word processing, and business office skills
Excellent language, communication and telephone skills
Ability to organize and prioritize duties
Experience in healthcare organizations is highly preferred
Bachelor’s degree in business or health related field (preferred)
7 years’ experience in healthcare/clinical business setting (preferred)
Epic Cadence knowledge will be essential (preferred)
