Role Overview
Team leadership. Manage and mentor 3–5 communication designers: set priorities, give sharp, grounded feedback, and develop individual skills.
Design direction. Define and evolve the visual communication standards for marketing, building scalable design systems and templates the team can work from.
Cross-functional. Drive cross-functional collaboration with Product, Growth, Brand, Marketing, and Engineering — align on priorities, represent the design perspective in strategic discussions, and ensure smooth delivery across teams.
AI tools leadership. Lead the adoption of AI-powered design tools within the team: identify the right tools, build workflows, run onboarding, and set the standard for responsible, effective AI-assisted production.
Processes. Build and continuously improve design processes within the team — from briefing and review flows to production standards and handoff — making the work faster, clearer, and more consistent.
Campaign ownership. Lead campaign design end-to-end across digital channels (social, email, paid) and offline formats (OOH, print), ensuring visual coherence across every touchpoint.
Web & mobile. Own communication design across all web and mobile surfaces — landing pages, web banners, app stores, and responsive email — in close collaboration with Product and Engineering.
Product communications. Partner with Growth and Product teams on onboarding flows, push notifications, in-app messaging, and other product communication touchpoints — translating product value into clear, engaging visuals.
Brand involvement. Actively contribute to Brand team projects — take part in brand identity work, visual guidelines, and cross-functional initiatives where communication design and brand intersect.
Quality & consistency. Own the QA process for outgoing materials — maintaining brand integrity across high volumes of output.
Requirements
5+ years of experience in communication design, with at least 1–2 years in a lead or senior role.
Proven experience managing designers and giving actionable, specific feedback.
Background in IT product companies — understanding how design works within agile product teams and alongside engineering.
A strong portfolio showing campaign work across digital and offline channels — ideally in fintech, banking, or another IT product company.
Deep command of visual hierarchy, typography, and layout — the ability to create clear communications in a complex, compliance-heavy environment.
Hands-on experience designing for web and mobile: responsive layouts, web banners, app store assets, and mobile-first communications.
Clear, direct communicator — able to translate strategy into concise briefs and push back constructively when needed.
Practical experience with AI design tools (e.g. Midjourney, Adobe Firefly, Runway, or similar) and a genuine interest in evolving team workflows through them.
Proficiency in Figma; familiarity with motion and video production workflows is a plus.
Knowledge of 3D production — experience working with 3D visuals for marketing communications, whether hands-on (Cinema 4D, Blender, or similar) or in a creative direction capacity with 3D designers.
