About this role
Role Overview
Support the design of pipeline systems, including routing, tie-ins, and facility interfaces
Develop and interpret P&IDs and pipeline schematics
Assist with line sizing, pressure system considerations, and material selection
Contribute to the design of valve sites, pigging facilities, and pipeline appurtenances
Support pipeline-related facility design, including metering, compression, and pumping systems
Prepare and maintain line lists, valve lists, MTOs, and Bills of Materials
Support development of engineering drawings and pipeline design packages
Prepare equipment datasheets and technical documentation
Participate in design reviews and constructability discussions
Coordinate with process, civil, electrical, and other engineering disciplines
Assist with Material Requisitions (MRs) and Scopes of Work (SOWs)
Support RFQ/RFP processes and vendor coordination
Participate in Technical Bid Evaluations (TBEs)
Review vendor drawings and ensure compliance with design requirements
Provide engineering support during construction and commissioning
Assist with field walkdowns, redlines, and as-built updates
Support troubleshooting and resolution of design issues during execution
Contribute to change management and project documentation
Requirements
2+ years of engineering experience in pipeline or oil & gas projects
Direct experience supporting pipeline design or pipeline facilities engineering is required
Experience within EPC/EPCM or owner/operator environments is preferred
Exposure to mainline pipelines, gathering systems, or facility tie-ins is an asset
Working knowledge of pipeline systems and piping design principles
Familiarity with mechanical systems associated with pipeline infrastructure
Knowledge of key industry codes and standards such as CSA Z662, ASME B31.3 / B31.1, and applicable API standards
Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, isometrics, pipeline alignment drawings, and specifications
Experience with AutoCAD, Plant 3D, or similar design tools
Experience with Navisworks or other 3D model review tools
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Bluebeam
Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Registered or eligible as an Engineer in Training (EIT)
