Clinical Pharmacy Specialists (CPS) are responsible and accountable for the provision of safe, effective, and prompt medication therapy.
CPS works under minimal supervision to provide direct patient-centered care and integrated pharmacy operational services that optimize the patient care experience and drive organizational performance.
A Clinical Pharmacy Specialist provides expertise to the department expertise not routinely available in the pharmacy staff.
Responsibilities include reviewing infusion treatment plans for appropriateness and proper dosing, coordinating pre-infusion medications, labs, and vaccinations, and participating in protocol and order set development.
Requirements
Graduate of an ACPE-accredited College of Pharmacy with a Doctor of Pharmacy or BS Pharmacy Degree
Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY-1 residency and/or at least 3 years of applicable experience
Certification as a licensed Registered Pharmacist by the State of Arkansas or eligibility for licensure.
