About this role
Role Overview
Support attorneys in all phases of New Jersey family law matters, including divorce, custody, support, alimony, equitable distribution, domestic violence, mediation, and related cases.
Draft pleadings, correspondence, subpoenas, interrogatories, affidavits, motions, and other family law documents.
Prepare cases for hearings, mediation, settlement conferences, and trial, including exhibits, witness coordination, deadlines, and logistics.
File court documents through New Jersey e-filing systems and maintain accurate, organized case files.
Manage attorney calendars, court dates, client meetings, deadlines, and case follow-ups.
Communicate professionally and compassionately with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and internal team members.
Assist with Case Information Statements and financial discovery materials.
Keep electronic and paper files organized, current, and easy for the legal team to access.
Help deliver a calm, responsive, and positive client experience during sensitive family law matters.
Requirements
1 to 2+ years of New Jersey family law paralegal experience required.
Experience drafting family law pleadings, discovery, correspondence, and court filings.
Working knowledge of Case Information Statements required.
Familiarity with New Jersey e-filing systems strongly preferred.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and Teams.
Strong organization, writing, follow-up, and time management skills.
Professional communication style with clients, courts, attorneys, and opposing counsel.
Ability to stay calm, detail-focused, and solutions-oriented in a fast-paced legal environment.
Paralegal certificate preferred, but not required.
