Pharmacy Technician

Role Overview

• Answer incoming calls and route inquiries or escalate concerns to the pharmacist.
• Complete INR reminder calls and notify patients of normal INR results.
• Collect general, non-clinical patient data during phone interactions.
• Accurately enter prescription refill requests.
• Book patient INR appointments and manage scheduling changes.
• Contact outside medical facilities to retrieve missing INR results or medication records.
• Input external INR lab results into patient electronic profiles.
• Enter and update patient information for new and existing patients.
• Manage documentation for AMS enrollments, renewals, and provider changes.
• Immediately alert the AMS Pharmacist when patient responses or data require clinical judgment or pharmacist intervention.

Requirements

• Illinois Pharmacy Technician Registration/Certification requirements, e.g., CPhT.
• Excellent phone etiquette, strong data entry accuracy, and exceptional organizational skills.
• Experience with electronic health records (EHR) and pharmacy management systems preferred.
• Ability to work well with other clinical staff.
