Design, review, and support the development of Control & Protection systems, low-voltage electrical distribution, telecom, and monitoring systems for high-voltage substations.
Prepare and validate technical specifications for equipment and services, including purchase specifications and technical requirements.
Ensure compliance with customer requirements, as well as applicable local and international codes, regulations, and standards such as IEC, ANSI, and IEEE.
Review customer technical requirements clause by clause, identify deviations or exceptions, and manage technical clarifications and queries to ensure compliance.
Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to ensure proper integration within the overall substation design.
Oversee commissioning and testing activities for low-voltage systems.
Provide technical support to customers and project teams throughout all project phases.
Manage engineering subcontractors for assigned work packages, ensuring quality, schedule, and technical compliance.
Support construction, commissioning, and assembly teams by providing technical clarifications and resolving design-related issues.
Conduct technical site visits, when required, to collect and validate information for the preparation of electrical and telecom detailed design packages.
Identify, assess, and manage technical risks, and define appropriate mitigation actions.
Develop project deliverables in compliance with contractual EHS requirements.
Perform technical calculations, including cable sizing, CT/PT adequacy checks, and sizing of auxiliary services equipment.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronic or Automation & Control Engineering.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in Engineering activities in EPC type environment in T&D, FACTS, Power Gen or industry.
In-depth knowledge of substation control system design, or electrical distribution, auxiliary services, industry standards, and regulations.
Familiarity with Substation Layout is advantageous.
Fluent Spanish proficiency.
Advanced English proficiency.
Knowledge of high voltage products, substation engineering design and services.
Familiarity with international and Mexican regulations and standards for substations (IEEE, IEC, ANSI, CFE).
