Review small claims matters and third-party legal requests, including garnishments, information subpoenas with restraining notices, powers of attorney, and guardianships, to identify requirements, deadlines, and response steps.
Support the response and defense of small claims matters by researching claims, gathering relevant records, and preparing response materials for counsel review.
Prepare and send correspondence and response letters to issuing parties, claimants, and other stakeholders in accordance with established procedures.
Record, process, and monitor incoming requests, filings, orders, and related legal documents using matter management systems and shared repositories.
Respond to status inquiries and escalations from issuing parties and internal teams with accurate updates, documentation, and next steps.
Identify related matters, business contacts, and research resources to support issue resolution and cross-team coordination.
Maintain electronic case management tools, shared file rooms, and other databases to support legal matter tracking, reporting, and file integrity.
Support program administration, monthly reporting, special projects, and analyses related to litigation support and third-party response operations.
Requirements
3+ years of experience in paralegal, legal operations, or legal analyst work supporting litigation, small claims matters, third-party requests, or similar legal processes.
Experience reviewing legal documents, tracking deadlines, and coordinating responses to claims, garnishments, subpoenas, or court-related matters.
Experience using matter management systems, document repositories, and database tools for legal file management, tracking, and reporting.
Experience preparing written correspondence, response letters, and legal support materials with accuracy and attention to detail.
Bachelor's degree or higher in Legal Studies, Business, Criminal Justice, or related field, or equivalent combination of education, related experience and/or military experience.
Paralegal certificate or equivalent legal operations credential (experience that would be great to have).
