Senior Physician Billing Specialist

Role Overview

• Works daily failed bills/claims on all systems including late charges, rebills and additional billing reports
• Reviews/Updates failed bills & claims on the host system and within billing vendor
• Works daily electronic submissions (or 277's) resolving claim issues
• Monitors daily claims errors and resolutions providing recommendations on systems fixes going forward
• Bills hardcopy claims attaching any needed documentation for payment
• Pulls EOB's and Medical Records as needed attaching to claims and mailing
• Contact patients, insurance, any third party for insurance information or any additional billing data
• Creates training documents/tests
• Train and educate staff, providing testing
• Work absentee staffing desk's

Requirements

• 1 to 3 Years of experience
• High School Diploma, GED, or Equivalent Experience
• 2 years of an accredited degree or equal experience
• CPB Certified
• Must have billing experience on multiple payers or a SME on one payer
• Basic computer knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Must pass typing test of 35 words per minute (error adjusted)
• Must provide a mock training session for the interviewer(s)
