Helping patients navigate the financial aspects of their healthcare by screening patients to determine potential Medicaid, UAMS Financial Assistance and/or other program eligibility and subsequent completion of applications with the patient and family
Maintains knowledge of community agencies and resources to facilitate appropriate referrals and identification of payment sponsorship.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in finance, business or related PLUS three (3) years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle or revenue cycle related function OR High School Diploma/GED PLUS seven (7) years of experience in healthcare in a revenue cycle related function or equivalent combination of education and experience
Bilingual English/Spanish
Knowledge of Medicaid categories, DHS, polices and processes
Ability to analyze financial data to calculate payment obligations
Problem solving skills, critical thinking skills, and ability to multi-task
Meticulousness in filling out forms, verifying coverage, and documenting in patient management software
Strong interpersonal skills to discuss sensitive financial matters with patients during stressful situations
Competence in using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems (e.g., Epic, Workday) and Microsoft Office
