Head CIB Coverage Compliance

Role Overview

• Provide proactive, expert compliance advisory across CIB coverage and public sector businesses
• Guide stakeholders on conduct risk, regulatory requirements, and cross-border activities
• Act as a trusted advisor on new products, transactions, and strategic initiatives
• Lead regulatory interpretation and communicate impacts to the business
• Identify, assess, and manage emerging regulatory and compliance risks
• Oversee compliance input into transaction approval committees and forums
• Act as a key interface with regulators (e.g. SARB, FSCA, FIC, Prudential Authority)
• Lead, mentor and develop a team of compliance professionals
• Drive compliance innovation initiatives and internal projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Risk, or related field
• LLB or postgraduate qualification advantageous
• 8–10+ years’ experience in Compliance, Legal, or Risk within CIB
• Proven experience in Investment banking products and services
• Regulatory advisory and interpretation
• Senior stakeholder engagement and leadership
• Experience engaging with regulators and managing complex compliance matters.
