Manage delivery for concurrent digital product initiatives, keeping individual projects on track while coordinating cross-project dependencies, timelines, budgets, priorities, sequencing, and tradeoffs across the broader product portfolio.
Build, maintain, and regularly update project plans, timelines, milestones, dependency maps, and delivery forecasts to ensure work remains organized, visible, and achievable.
Track scope, schedule, budget, capacity, risks, milestones, and dependencies; proactively identify cross-project impacts and escalate issues with clear recommendations.
Coordinate across Product Managers, Business Analysts, the Development team, external vendors, and cross-functional stakeholders to maintain alignment, clarify commitments, and support timely delivery.
Follow up on blockers, open decisions, vendor deliverables, and stakeholder commitments to help keep work moving day to day.
Oversee coordination with external vendors supporting product initiatives, ensuring deliverables, timelines, scope, and budget commitments are met.
Partner with product managers, business analysts, and the development team to align release planning and sprint execution with portfolio priorities.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, Editorial, Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success, to manage shared dependencies and delivery commitments.
Prepare clear status reporting, escalation recommendations, decision logs, and delivery updates for leadership, highlighting project and portfolio-level risks and tradeoffs.
Operate effectively at both the project and portfolio levels, managing day-to-day execution while maintaining visibility into broader roadmap impacts.
Support delivery predictability by identifying risks early, recommending mitigation options, and ensuring decisions and commitments are documented.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or the equivalent in additional experience.
5+ years of experience managing complex software or digital product initiatives, including multiple concurrent projects with shared dependencies.
Demonstrated experience operating at a program or portfolio-delivery level, even if not formally titled as a Program Manager.
Formal project or program management certification, such as PMP or Agile PMP, preferred; demonstrated experience managing complex, multi-initiative delivery is more important.
