About this role
Role Overview
Responsible for development, production, and continuous update of written, photographic, audio, video and mixed media training aids and materials for mission planning.
Supports planning and coordination for agencies participating in or supporting training operations on the Tactical Training Range complex.
Attends pre-mission conferences for users and support groups.
Coordinates user flight schedules/training requirements with tactical training system range and warning area availability to ensure maximum utilization of tactical training system facilities.
Coordinates tactical training system assets and communicates daily with aviation units, air control units, airspace/air traffic control agencies and other tactical training system facilities to ensure coordination of necessary participants.
Maintains computer database of range utilization, prepares reports of range availability/scheduling/utilization.
Develops and presents briefings on capability, operation, and requirements to military and government agencies, to include VIP presentations.
Provides for equipment operator training for Range Training Officers (RTO) and other on-site personnel in operation of display consoles.
Performs RTO functions when user RTOs are not available.
Solicits customer feedback and encourages completion of customer surveys.
Compiles and retains customer satisfaction data.
Proactively communicates with individual squadrons to ensure link connectivity in every flight and troubleshoots as required during training evolutions.
Utilizes all functionality of JRE in order to meet specific training event requirements.
Coordinates with and trains designated range personnel in the daily operation of TDL equipment.
Coordinates TDL settings with all training network participants.
Serves as the primary point of contact for all questions related to operational and interoperability issues.
Continuously coordinates with external TDL agencies, including training and testing facilities, to ensure the TDL architecture is equipped with the most current software, hardware, and system capabilities.
Recommends modifications and upgrades to increase interoperability with joint and combined forces.
Attends appropriate continuing education classes to maintain knowledge base.
Supports tactical data link design in validated operational requirements to include cost analysis, optimization studies, engineering studies, integration, and installation.
Works with the engineering department for capability improvements and with configuration management to maintain and document TDL baselines.
Requirements
5 years relevant experience with Bachelor's in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Master's in related field; 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.
Candidate must hold an Air Intercept Controller (AIC) qualification.
Candidate must have experience writing technical reports.
Candidate must have experience familiarizing aircrews with range capabilities, available assets, and operational procedures, and providing detailed debriefings.
