About this role
Role Overview
As an IT-Consultant Data Engineering (m/w/d), you will develop modern, scalable data platforms with our clients — from high-performance data pipelines to cloud-based data lake and analytics architectures.
You will work closely with clients, development teams and business units to translate technical requirements into sustainable solutions.
You will take responsibility in projects and navigate confidently between engineering and consulting.
You will design, develop and optimize modern data architectures (e.g., databases, data lakes or lakehouses).
You will develop, optimize and operate ETL/ELT pipelines.
You will work with relational and analytical database systems.
You will integrate various data sources from operational, business or external systems.
You will ensure data quality, performance, stability and maintainability.
You will support the implementation of cloud-based data platforms.
You will advise our clients on data architecture, storage and integration concepts.
You will document data models, pipelines and technical decisions.
Optional: You will support topics related to reporting, analytics or Power BI.
Requirements
You have a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a comparable qualification — and at least 3 years of relevant professional experience.
You have excellent SQL skills and experience designing relational data models.
You have experience with databases such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Azure SQL or comparable technologies.
You have hands-on experience building and operating ETL/ELT processes as well as working with data lakes, lakehouse architectures or cloud/hybrid data platforms.
Ideally, you have already worked with Microsoft data services such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse or Microsoft Fabric.
You work analytically, structured and solution-oriented and have a good technical understanding of complex data flows and dependencies.
You present yourself professionally in client settings and work independently.
You have very good German language skills, spoken and written (at least C1 level).
