Supports EEI's state advocacy efforts by developing and advancing policy positions that align with member company priorities.
Builds and maintains relationships with state policymakers, national state-based organizations, and key external stakeholders.
Collaborates closely with EEI member companies and internal teams to drive effective engagement strategies.
Develops and advances EEI policy positions in support of member company priorities.
Engages with national organizations (e.g., NGA, NCSL, CSG, etc.) and supports integration of EEI priorities into policy discussions and conference programming.
Partners with EEI External Affairs staff and member companies to track state policy trends and advocacy strategies.
Identifies opportunities to leverage third-party stakeholders to advance EEI priorities.
Requirements
Required Bachelor’s degree in political science, public policy, communications, or related field.
6-8 years of experience in government affairs, public policy, or a related field.
Experience working across teams and managing external relationships.
Strong analytical, writing, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Preferred Knowledge of state legislative processes and key state-level stakeholders.
Experience working with national and regional state-based organizations (e.g., NGA, NCSL, CSG, etc.).
Familiarity with energy policy and relevant federal policy trends.
