Role Overview
- Lead and contribute to nuclear safety cases for complex naval nuclear infrastructure
- Apply deterministic safety analysis methodologies within a structured, regulation-informed design process
- Engage with licensing and regulatory frameworks governing nuclear-powered naval operations
- Produce and review technical design substantiation documentation to the standard demanded by nuclear regulation
- Mentor and develop the next generation of Australian NSQEP
Requirements
- Established experience across the following disciplines:
- Safety-informed design process
- Deterministic Safety Analysis
- Regulation and licensing
- Technical design substantiation
- Engineering degree or equivalent relevant qualification
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence security clearance
- Experience in high-hazard industries operating under formal regulatory regimes (Desirable)
- Direct experience with nuclear-powered submarine programmes (Desirable)
- Involvement in the delivery of nuclear facilities or infrastructure (Desirable)
- Background in Defence project delivery (Desirable)
