About this role
Role Overview
- Responsible for the supervision of staff including appraisals, planning and directing their work, approving leave, having the authority for hiring, and taking disciplinary action or effectively recommending such actions
- Determines nutrition risk eligibility of clients in accordance with DHM 150-24
- Documents services provided in accordance with State WIC Office documentation guidelines
- Provides individual nutrition education contacts, adapts nutrition education content based on need of the client using the VENA concept
- Refers clients to appropriate outside agency and assigns appropriate food packages
- Protects, promotes, and supports breastfeeding; assures local site reflects a Breastfeeding Friendly atmosphere
- Completes assigned administrative projects and reports in a timely fashion
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree from a US accredited College or University in nutritional science, community nutrition, clinical nutrition, dietetics, or public health nutrition
- WIC Procedure Manual DHM 150-24, Chapter 6, Section 6-5b
- Possess a valid driver’s license and have a motor vehicle to perform duties.
