About this role
Role Overview
- Administer and support PostgreSQL and Microsoft SQL Server in Azure and on-prem environments
- Support database migrations from on‑prem to Azure, including validation, performance tuning, and post‑migration stabilization
- Monitor and troubleshoot database performance and reliability issues using native tools and Datadog
- Implement and maintain backup, recovery, and high availability solutions
- Use and help extend Liquibase for database schema and change management in CI/CD pipelines
- Contribute to database provisioning and configuration through Terraform and Infrastructure as Code practices
- Collaborate with application and platform teams supporting Kubernetes‑based workloads
- Automate routine operational tasks using scripting where appropriate
- Follow and contribute to database security, compliance, and documentation standards
- Participate in an on‑call rotation for production database support
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience as a Database Administrator or similar role
- Strong (5-7 Years) hands‑on experience with PostgreSQL and/or SQL Server
- 7+ Years experience operating databases in Azure, AWS or GCP
- Working knowledge of Liquibase, Terraform, or similar tooling
- Familiarity with Kubernetes environments
- Experience (5-7 Years) with monitoring/observability tools such as Datadog
- Scripting experience (PowerShell, Python, or similar)
