Oversee all US/CAN tax compliance activities, including Federal, State, Local, and Foreign Tax (Includes forms 5471s, 5472s, 8865, 8858)
Ensure accurate US Federal Tax consolidation, including partnerships, and Joint Ventures
Review tax attributes, e.g., E&P; FTC, to ensure all balances are accurate, properly, and timely updated, including all relevant supporting documentation
State and Local Tax review, including both unitary and separate states
Provide guidance to US-based businesses and provide advice to Business Groups on tax exposures, e.g., Permanent Establishments either abroad or in the US, along with recommendations to address all relevant matters
Develop a strategy for cash distributions from CFCs to US HoldCos and MX Parent to optimize cash tax leakages.
Assess tax positions on US CFCs located in Europe (e.g., Austria, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, and Germany) and the Middle East (mainly India), including active participation in planning and restructuring activities
Manage the quarterly and annual tax provision workings in accordance with IFRS IAS12 for Consolidated Tax reporting for the Group and ASC740 for statutory tax reporting
Coordinate US transfer pricing activities in accordance with Global Transfer Pricing policies
Interface with Federal, State, and Local Tax Authorities, coordinating all efforts aimed at successfully managing and closing any tax examinations
Identify, develop, and implement innovative and forward-thinking strategies around US and International tax structuring initiatives aimed at optimizing Business Groups' tax position
Active mentorship to the US Tax Managers and other tax team members globally
Manage work and budget relative to tax support provided by external advisors
Implement and follow up on SOX tax controls
Requirements
12+ years overall experience in US inbound/outbound corporate tax affairs
Big4s and large multinationals experience
3+ years of experience as Tax Manager
Significant tax reporting experience. Manufacturing/Chemical industry experience is a plus
Education Required: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
Certified Public Accountant
MST preferred
Strong knowledge of US Corporate tax
International Tax knowledge – Inbound / Outbound EMEA – APAC
IFRS accounting for income taxes
