Lead the day-to-day operations of the team within the social and economic development portfolio.
Provide day-to-day coaching, direction, and leadership to employees.
Manage resources, processes, and procedures to ensure effective management of workplans.
Coordinate unit reporting with input from various staff members.
Act as a central resource to the Policy and Advocacy team and collaborate across the organization to create presentations or speaking notes.
Develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate projects across the department including regular activity reports and deliverables.
Identify funding sources and develop relevant project proposals, agreements, and budgets.
Support report and proposal management including reading/editing of reports or proposals.
Organize and create standards and best practices across Policy and Advocacy.
Requirements
A university or college degree in business planning, community development, sociology, gender studies, and/or other equivalent combination of education and recent relevant work experience.
5+ years of prior experience in Policy and Advocacy, planning, reporting & analytics.
Experience leading teams
Experience as a policy generalist with general understanding of priority mandates of Health, Socio-Economic Development, Violence and Abuse Prevention and Justice.
Ability to develop positive working relationships.
Strong relationship building skills with personal credibility and high impact communication and presentation skills.
Strong project management, consultation, resource planning and budgeting skills.
Fluency in English; working knowledge of Inuktut (oral and written) is desirable.
