Role Overview
- Serve as the primary driver of the company’s legislative and regulatory strategy within the California State Capitol
- Develop and implement a California-focused government affairs plan
- Monitor, research, and evaluate California state legislative proposals impacting the company's operations
- Advocate for the company's positions before the California Legislature and relevant agencies
- Prepare and deliver communications to California state policymakers and regulators
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key California state legislators and staff
- Represent the company at California state legislative hearings, meetings, and events
- Partner with trade associations to shape regulatory and policy agendas
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Law, or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in state government affairs, lobbying, public policy, or related field
- Strong knowledge of state legislative and regulatory processes and procedures in California
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to develop and execute effective state government affairs strategies and tactics
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with state policymakers and trade associations
- Ability to travel frequently within the Western States region
